There are 480 employees, including 120 with bachelor's degree and 54 with master's degree and doctoral degree. There are 390 Technical Professionals, accounting for 81% of the total number of employees, forming a talent echelon of 38 Senior Technical Professionals, 81 Intermediate Technical Professionals and 272 Junior Technical Professionals.
III. Construction and Blood Supply Situation
Beijing Red Cross Blood Center was established in 1957, covering an area of 8,268.01 square meters and a building area of 20,106.32 square meters. It is one of the largest blood collection and supply institutions in China that integrates the recruitment of blood donors, blood collection and preparation, clinical blood supply, medical blood operation guidance and blood-related scientific research and teaching. In 2019, we collected 104.2 tons of blood, the first blood collection institution in China to collect more than 100 tons of blood annually.
Our quality policy is based on the principles of "safety, sufficient quantity, effectiveness and humanity", with "donors, recipients and clinical hospitals" as the center, and "standardization, standardization and scientificization" as the guidelines, to fully guarantee the blood supply in the capital.
Research and Teaching
Beijing Red Cross Blood Center undertakes scientific research, teaching and training in blood transfusion medicine in Beijing. In recent years, three people have been awarded as Beijing Rising Stars of Science and Technology, two people have been selected for the Beijing Inter-century Excellent Talent Project, four people have been selected for the Beijing Hundred, Thousand and Ten Thousand and the Municipal Health Bureau Ten, Hundred and Thousand Science and Technology Talent Pool, two people have been selected as Beijing Outstanding Young Intellectuals, and five people have been selected as Beijing Outstanding Talents. We have obtained 48 scientific research achievements at all levels, published 196 papers in international and domestic, organized and participated in writing 13 books, and obtained 15 national technical patents. On average, 10 national and municipal-level continuing education programs are held every year.
